The Bryggen shop
Located in the heart of Bergen, on the historic Bryggen wharf, Norsemen Miniatures is a small shop with a passion for Norwegian history in miniature. Through finely detailed and historically accurate tin soldiers, stories from the past are brought to life.
A shop dedicated to history in miniature
Inside the shop, you will discover a wide range of tin soldiers from Norwegian and Nordic history. The collection includes figures from the Viking Age, the Norwegian royal family, His Majesty The King’s Guard, the Second World War, modern military history, well‑known Norwegian personalities – and of course Bergen’s unique buekorps.
Each figure is carefully crafted with great attention to detail, strong likeness, and a clear connection to historical sources.
The shop is both a place to shop and a small exhibition space. Visitors are welcome to explore the figures up close, admire the craftsmanship, and learn more about how they are designed and hand‑painted.
The shop is located at Holmedalsgården 8e on Bryggen in Bergen – one of Norway’s most famous historic sites and part of the UNESCO World Heritage List. With its narrow passages and distinctive wooden buildings, the area can be a little confusing for first-time visitors.
To find us, enter the passage next to The Christmas House (Julehuset) and continue all the way through to the next covered walkway (svalgang). You will find the shop there.
Welcome inside
Whether you are a collector, interested in history, or simply fascinated by miniatures, you are most welcome to stop by. The tin soldier shop at Bryggen, in the heart of Bergen, is a unique and memorable stop, filled with history – both in the walls and on the shelves. Most of the time, you will be greeted by Sigve, the artist behind the tin soldiers.
