1:30 scale handmade tin soldier of the French Foreign Legion from the Battle of Narvik in 1940. During the Battle of Narvik in 1940, the 13th Hemibrigade of the Foreign Legion formed part of the French contribution to the Allied force deployed against the Germans. The half-brigade was under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Raoul Magrin-Vernerey, with Antoine Béthouart as commander-in-chief of the French forces. Several officers and legionnaires were awarded the Military Cross for their efforts, Norway's highest-ranking award. In total, over 2,000 foreign legionnaires fought in the battles at Narvik.
