Handmade 1:30 scale tin soldier of the ship’s dog and mascot Bamse.
Bamse was a large St. Bernard who served on the minesweeper KNM Thorodd and became a beloved companion to the Norwegian sailors in exile during the Second World War. He was known for calming the crew, breaking up fights, accompanying the watch on their rounds, and even rescuing a sailor who fell overboard. The crew made him his own sailor’s cap and a specially designed helmet. Bamse also received an official service record and later several honours for his bravery. The figurine is delivered in a beautifully illustrated metal box, which also includes a small leaflet with information about Bamse.
The Bamse tin soldier pairs perfectly with the Norwegian WWII sailor figurine. We have also created an illustrated card that can be used as a backdrop for the figures. The sailor figurine and the card are not included, but can be purchased separately.
